In therapy, what we add to our toolbox as either client or therapist provides a wider range of helpful techniques.
As well as continually undertaking continuing professional development, my current main area of study is working towards being a qualified practitioner, training with Dr Carol Robertson from The Psychosensory Academy https://www.psychosensoryacademy.com/
This is a type of psychosensory healing therapy based on the fields of neuroscience and neurobiology. The techniques use sensory input in order to alter thought, mood and behaviour. The therapy is designed to help with the negative consequences of traumatic or stressful life events which have been previously encoded in the memory.
I can offer this as free stand alone sessions while I am training. Alternatively I may discuss the possibility of using one or more of the techniques if you as client and myself as therapist consider this would be of benefit during your counselling/CBT sessions. In either case, I would ask your permission to write up the session for the final part of my training as a case study. This would be completely anonymous.
